Business/Ops Intern Application for Going Merry
Company Description
We are a company founded by Stanford graduates, who all benefited from scholarships but also felt the pain of applying for them. Inspired by what the Common App® has done for college applications, we make it easier for students to find and apply for scholarships and simpler for scholarship providers to create and manage them. We come together from different backgrounds and skill sets but share the same mission: to give every student truly equal access to life-changing education.
Job Description
Typical tasks will include:
-Adding scholarships to our site using Airtable (a spreadsheet-like software)
-Maintaining and updating our database of high schools and colleges
-Customer service via live chat with our users using Intercom (an awesome customer service software)
-Writing help guide articles to aid our users (the better the articles, the less customer service we receive)
-Managing our social media channels by creating and posting fun+relevant content
-Perform Quality Assurance testing on our site (make sure nothing is broken)
-Design and manage user feedback sessions with local students so that we can improve our site appearance and features
Qualifications:
-Attention to detail and eagerness to learn
-Customer service experience a plus
-Good writing skills
-Creativity and knack for social media
-0-2 years of experience in administrative/business/operations roles
Compensation:
$15-20/hr (depending on relevant experience)
without benefits
20-40 hours per week
